If fire is a natural and essential part of a healthy forest, then why would the Forest Service propose to log this area? The reason is because the Forest Service’s budgets are tied to commercial logging and resource extraction – not to forest protection and restoration. This is a prime example of why the majority of the American people want to get the Forest Service out of the logging business. This photo is again from within one of the proposed logging units. If you would like more information about this proposed logging project, please contact the Native Forest Network at nfn@wildrockies.org. More information about wildfires, logging and fire ecology can be found at the Native Forest Network's Wildfire Info Center. All photos by Native Forest Network. |
