Public Lands Project Virtual Field Tours

Ancient Forests Under Siege by Bush Administration Forest Policies
In this field tour you will visit some of the public lands logging projects that target ancient, old-growth forests in the Pacific Northwest. Some of these ancient forests have already been cut down under Bush's watch, while other projects are in planning and could be cut soon. This year, 188 logging projects threaten to destroy over 138 square miles of ancient, old-growth forests. If you thought ancient, old-growth forests on your public lands were protected from logging, think again.

Montana's Mineral Primm Fire Complex and Post Fire "Salvage" Logging Proposal
This field tour takes you through Plum Creek Timber Company lands and National Forest lands burned by the 2003 Mineral Primm wildfire in Montana. See how intensely the fire burned in the logged and roaded Plum Creek lands compared with unroaded wildlands of the Lolo National Forest. You’ll also visit an unroaded area of the Lolo National Forest slated for post-fire "salvage" logging under the Bush Administration’s new "Healthy Forests Initiative" rules.

More Virtual Field Tours of YOUR National Forests will be coming soon!!
